This is nationalist propaganda produced by the current extreme right wing government and the ruling party Law and Justice (Prawo i Sprawiedliwość or PiS). One of their election promises was to improve the image of Poland in the world. They saw the efforts of the previous government to start a discussion with the goal to come to terms with shameful episodes in Polish history as treasonous. Well this is what they think with improve the image of Poland. Those who voted for PiS, do you think this nationalistic video game looking piece of propaganda? I don't think so. What would improve the image of Poland is admitting anti-Semitism in Poland and apologize for the atrocities that my ancestors committed on Jews and other religious and ethnic minorities. I think the only people who will like this are the ones on the extreme right and the fascists or the nazis.
I am embarrassed by it by this propaganda that remind me of communist propaganda films when I was growing up in Poland. By the end the narrator says: "the free world abandoned us (Poland)" referring to Soviet domination and the "Iron Curtain" after WWII. The irony is that those who are behind this propaganda video seem to want to be abandoned by the free world. They seem want to take Poland out of EU, limit democratic freedoms but making changes to the existing democratic laws, they took away whatever was left of women's reproductive rights, support discrimination against those in the LGBTQ community. One of their main pillars of their political platform is refusal to accept muslim refugees despite the fact that Poland signed agreements with the EU that mandate them to do so. For those familiar with Trump the current Polish government is like Trump administration but really Catholic. Similar to a point that some members of the Polish government are being scrutinized by the media and political opposition for contacts with Russian officials.
