Złoto można przenieść do formy gazowej (jak każdą substancję), ale tutaj już potrzebne są bardzo wysokie temperatury, lub specjalne techniki.
Tak naprawdę bardzo cienkie warstwy złota wykorzystywane np. w elektronice pozyskuje się przeistaczając złoto w formę gazową (technikami laserowymi).
